COOLture

Saturday 8 June, 10am - 4pm

Description:

COOLture is a Creative Voice event (a youth arts partnership between Hull City Council’s City Arts Unit and Youth Development Service) and has operated as a young people’s cultural celebration event for the last twelve years offering community and youth groups from across the city the opportunity to come together and take part in workshops delivered by local artists, Youth Development Service and community groups as well as share performances. The event was first started as a request from the Hull Young People’s Parliament.

This year’s event is part of Lord Mayor's Gala and will include dance performances representing many different cultural styles from Street, Classical Indian to Musical Theatre with the following groups involved; Pragnyna Indian Arts Centre, Little Stars Musical Theatre, Ganton School, Igbo Community and Route One Dancers.

COOLture groups will also be supporting the parade by working with Hull Carnival Arts to create new maritime themed props to showcase on the day.
