The world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra makes a triumphant return to Hull with an extravaganza showcasing the very best of classical music. Opening with Sibelius’ atmospheric Finlandia, the centrepiece to this magnificent programme will be Grieg’s moving Piano Concerto, performed by celebrated British pianist Peter Donohoe. Dvořák’s thrilling ‘New World’ Symphony closes the evening. Known as the composer’s ‘musical letter from America’, this well-loved work combines American folksong with Slavonic fire.
