The Enablement service can support all adults with disabilities with the following:
Enablement can support and advise how to maintain a person’s home in a habitable state and sustain good nutrition. This support could be; cooking, healthy eating, laundry, appropriate clothing choice, cleaning, shopping to include on-line shopping, finances, correspondence, keeping a home safe and free from clutter, fire safety advice and checks. Support to access assisted technology.
Also support to make use of necessary facilities or services in the local community. Travel training to learn routes and develop skills to access leisure activities, Drop In/s, banks, GP’s, public transport etc, independently. Enablement can offer support to learn how to make and attend appointments. Offer support and advice on how to use a mobile phone, access ‘apps’ and GPS systems and other assistive technology.
