Skylarks

Skylarks is an independent charity which supports families who have children with additional needs and disabilities.

Children with additional needs and their siblings can play and take part in our wide range of activities while we provide support, workshops, training, coffee and a listening ear to parents.

We offer play sessions every Tuesday and Friday in term time and occasional off-site activities such as our Pedal Project, hydrotherapy and outings.  We send a weekly email newsletter to show what is happening at Skylarks in the next week,  and to signpost “Local Information” about all support and services we know about which are available locally.

We currently offer the following services:

Details
Most of our services are free for parents. There is a suggested voluntary donation of £3 to attend one of our sessions. The only services for which we charge are developmental yoga and haircutting, for which we suggest a donation of £6 and occasionally for courses such as hydrotherapy or our Pedal Project, which are usually a suggested donation of around £40, but free bursary places are always available.

Referral Details

There are no geographical or borough limits on where our families live and some people travel quite long distances to access our services.

Children do not need an EHC Plan or even a formal diagnosis to access our services and families can just turn up – they do not need to be referred by a professional. We ask all families to register with us at www.skylarks.charity/register
