Durham County Council’s Families Information Service (FIS) is the place to find free and impartial information to support you and your family from pregnancy until your child's 20th birthday, or 25 years old for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). 

We can provide information on a wide range of things – whether you are looking for childcare, family support, or activities for children and young people, we can help or signpost you to someone who can.

County Durham Local Offer

The FIS also hosts the County Durham Local Offer which is the place dedicated to helping families of children and young people with SEND find the information they need.  Here you will find a wide range of information with details on services, short breaks and activities that can support you and your family.
