Yellow Wellies - Bishop Auckland
We offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’ in partnership with other childcare in our area. We also offer funding for children aged 2 who are elligible as well as the universaly offered 3 and 4 year old funding.
We are a private day nursery based within Bishop Auckland Children's Centre.
We welcome all children from birth to 5 years old and are open all year round from 8.00am to 6.00pm. We also offer term-time only places and half or full days.
Our small team is highly qualified, with an early years teacher leading the Pre-School, the rest of our are qualified to Level 3 or higher. All staff hold current DBS certificates.
Judged as outstanding by Ofsted, we pride ourselves on ensuring that every child in our care is understood and supported well. We work hard to get to know them, their preferences, their abilities and what they love. We use this information to provide a safe, enaging and challenging environment that keeps them interested and motivated to learn and enjoy their time with us.
We are very strong at preparing children for school, supporting their positive attitude to having a go and helping them to develop the skills they need.
We enjoy spending time with the children and giving them what they need, be it a cuddle of reassurance or encouraging words as they explore something new. We support and nurture relationships between the children, helping them to make friendships, become part of our family and to learn about others.
Our beautiful town house gives our children lots of space to explore both indoors and outdoors. With outdoor space to run and learn all about nature..
Kate, our Nursery Director has a Masters in Education and has recently completed a Doctorate in Early Childhood Studies. Her research is focused on how children communicate with each other in social situations and how this changes as they develop new skills.
We are happy to offer all of the funding options as follows; two year-old funding (for low income and non-working families), 15 hours of early education (for all 3 and 4 year-olds); and 30 hours funding for 3 and 4 year-olds (for working parents, starting in Sept 17).
Healthy, freshly cooked meals are provided by our nursery cook and include all of the nutroents and food-types that our children need (and excluding all those they don't need). We are able to meet individual diets - whether they are health, cultural or personal preferences.
We also offer limited places to older children (up to 8 years old) for before and after school care and holiday care (with fun activities to keep them all busy).
Please feel free to visit the setting to take a look around and see whether we are the nursery for you and your child.

Our highly qualified and experienced team are on hand to support children that may have additional needs. With two SEND leads we recognise that every child is diffierent and they work closely with parents to identify the best place, the best care, gentle routines to your child's preferences.
We are trained on a range of needs but are always happy to attend additional training.
Other professionals are regularly invited into the nursery to enable them to see how a child progresses and is able to access resources at nursery - this can also help reduce the burden for parents in having so many visitors!
