Little Adventurers Childminding

I offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’.

I am an Ofsted registered Childminder located in Ferryhill.

I provide a friendly, welcoming environment that offers high quality, flexible care for children aged 0-5 years - meeting the needs of busy parents. I offer care from 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

I provide a supportive, happy and inclusive home learning environment and it is my priority to ensure that each child in my care feels valued. I offer a variety of opportunities and experiences that are play-based, relevant and fun - lots of opportunities that enable children to follow their interests.

I work in partnership with mums, dads and carers to ensure each child’s learning and development is promoted and extended and to make certain each child receives high quality care and attention that meets their individual needs.

I have experience of working with children that have Special Educational Needs.

I am approved to offer '30 hours free childcare for working parents' to eligible 3 and 4 year olds and 15 hours 'free play and learn for two year olds'.

My qualifications include:

  • BA (First Class Honours) Degree - Childhood Studies
  • CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education
  • QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
  • Local authority approved safeguarding training

I love working with children and care deeply about Early Years Education and play-based learning.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

I get to know the children that I care for very well, we form positive relationships.  Learning is a balance of child-led and adult directed activities. I follow a pedagogy of play where children's interests and stage of learning are the starting point for all the activities and experiences I provide.

The home learning environment is organised to be child-centred, to promote independence.  All toys and resources are open-ended and accessible to all children.  Children can access what they want in a way that is relevant to their learning needs and their interests.

I follow children's interests and provide for their needs by playing with them, observing them as they play and explore, and as they interact with their peers.  I also identify each child's needs through ongoing observation, assessment and tracking of progress.  I identify whether there are areas where a child may need additional support.

I use this knowledge to reflect on ways that I can support each child approporiately and I work alongside parents to plan activities and experiences to extend children's learning - the next steps in learning and development.

The garden area is on two levels and unfortunately it is not accessible to wheelchairs.  The premisis does not have a downstairs bathroom or toilet.

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

I work in partnership with schools and nurseries to ensure all relevant information is shared appropriately.  I share children's reports and Learning Journey's prior to transition.
