Mains House Nursery

We offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’.

We are a small homely nursery located in the heart of Chester-le-Street, just one minute walk from the town centre. We are rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted for providing a very high quality of care and education for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.

We have a team of highly qualified and experienced practitioners, which is led by Leanne, our Nursery Manager and is supported by our Business Manager, Lynsey.

We offer sessions for 2 year olds and also nursery education grant funded places for 3 and 4 year olds. If your child is eligible for either of these places they will be able to access 15 hours of childcare and education. If you have received a golden ticket then your child may be able to start with us immediately depending upon availability. We offer flexible places where possible to fit in with your family commitments, so just give us a call to find out more.

We are open from 7.30am - 6.00pm all year except for bank holidays.

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

We work very closely with children and their families. We ensure that parents are aware of children's current stage of development, how we are supporting their child at nursery and how they can support their child at home. If we feel that a child would benefit from some extra support then we liaise with parents to keep them informed at each stage. We have good relationships with other professionals and will involve them if it is appropriate for a child.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?
