We offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’ in partnership with other childcare in our area.

We are a private day nursery with an out of school and holiday club provision located in the Randolph Community Centre, Evenwood, Bishop Auckland.

The nursery is a single storey purpose-built facility with excellent access to outdoor play areas.

House of Eden nurseries aim to provide a family orientated service to ensure that all children can develop and learn in a happy, loving, secure and stimulating environment. Our motto is 'Little things that count' and they really do!

Local Offer

Local Offer description

We have vast experience of children with SEND. Experience in caring for children with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Autism.

Policies and procedures are in place that follow the SEN Code of Practice. We track children's individual progress. This is a graduated approach by assessing, planning, doing and reviewing what works and what doesn't work for each individual child. We work closely with the Early Years Team for advice, support and funding.

The curriculum will be tailored to meet the child's developmental needs. This will be through a EHC or SEN Support Plan taking into account the child's interests, schemas and using the EYFS materials as guidance.

We have a good partnership with other professionals including One Point, EDA - Equality and Inclusion Team, Portage, Educational Psychologist, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.

Staff have accessed a range of training to support the children with SEND. From Speech and Language, Behaviour, Autism, Using Visual Prompts, Writing Reports or Educational Advice and Exercises from the Physiotherapist.

Our nursery is accessible both indoor and outdoor for wheelchair users.

There are good transition arrangements with the local schools including visits. Staff can accompany the child to the new setting. Photographs of the new staff and the environment can be taken to familiarise the child. We consider each child's individual needs and adapt their transition to their needs.
