We offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’.

We are a purpose built day nursery in Willington, near Crook. Our setting is on two floors with a seperate dining room and newly designed outdoor area with seperate fenced area for under 2 year olds. 

We offer flexible contracted sessions for all ages. We have very highly qualified staff - the Manager and Deputy Manager both hold an Early Years Teacher Status, two members of staff hold a Degree in Education and one member has a Foundation Degree. At present, five other members of staff are currently working towards their Level 5 Diploma.

We have a vast experience working with children who have additional needs and require one to one support, which all our staff are able to do confidently.

All staff have a Level 2 in Understanding Autism and have a lot of experience with children on the autism spectrum. 

Two staff are trained in NG feeding tubes, moving and handling and using a hoist, and clean intermittent catheterisation.

We have a vast experience with varied additional needs, and attend any training that is required.

We observe children daily when they are in the setting. If we have any concerns regarding special educational needs we can identify them as early as possible. We assess them against the Early Years Foundation Stage development ladder and then speak with parents/carers if we had any concerns about making the appropriate referals.

We are very much a child initiated setting so we adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage to meet the needs of all the children within our care. We will plan specific activities and opportunites to meet the children's needs.

We work closely with One Point and often use their sensory room. We have trained staff in NG feeding, moving and handling and also clean cathetirisation. We have access to Durham County Council's SEN team who are always available for advice and guidance.

All rooms downstairs are accessible by the main entrance. There are no stairs.

Staff work very closely with all profesionals involved with any child to make sure the transition from nursery to school runs smootly for the child and their family.
