Kelly Harrop
I offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’ in partnership with other childcare in my area.
I am a Childminder providing a loving and homely environment where children will develop their learning and development skills.
I attend various toddler groups and regular visits to local parks, soft play centres, shops and libraries are arranged. There is also easy access to the countryside where (weather dependant) children can participate in a range of outdoor adventures.
Children have free play with a variety of toys, puzzles, books, dressing up, water and sand play. Children are allowed to access a spacious garden at the rear of the property that is fully enclosed.

I have attended numerous training courses for special needs, and I have a Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification.
I have recently looked after an autistic boy. I have recognised the boys needs and adapted my setting to include and welcome his needs. I work well in supporting the family, providing reports and attending meetings where required and offering advice to the families where needed.
I will continue to attend SEND training sessions and keep up to date with any changes made.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?
- How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?
As childminders, we have to document a child's progress in the same way as a nursery. Regular observations and photos of your child are continuously taken and processed, so that development reports can be completed regularly.

- What specialist services and expertise are available at or accessed by the early years setting?
As a result of looking after children with special needs, I have worked with outside agencies and attended meetings with parents.
I have a very good relationships with the Manager of Bishop Ian Ramsey pre-school, and Bishop Ian Ramsey CofE Primary School and we work very well in sharing information and working in partnership with regards to the children who attend both the nursery/school and my setting.

I attend up to date SEND training when offered and also have a Level 2 in Understanding Autism qualification.
How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

Unfortuntely there are no ramps into my house, but it may be something to look into in the future.
How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?
- How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?
I have a very good relationship with both the nursery and school at Bishop Ian Ramsey, and help in the transition from my setting to either nursery or school. I provide the nursery or school with transition reports of the children so they can have an insight into the child and their likes and dislikes. The nursery work with the school during transition periods so that also helps in the transition to school.
