Diane Walker - Diane's Childminding Service, Willington

I offer '30 hours funded childcare for working parents'.

I offer full time, part time, term time and school holiday places. I also offer 15 hours funded childcare for 2 year olds.

I have ten years experience of working in a private day nursery as a practitioner. I am also a mother to two children aged 16 and 20 years.

My home is spacious with a good size rear garden enclosed by fencing.

Educational activities are provided for your child to ensure they meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) developmental outcomes. Activities and resources just for fun are also organised. I will ensure a fun, friendly and safe environment is provided for your child. I have attended, and continue to attend many training courses, both on line, and face to face offered by the local authority.

My latest Ofsted inspection was held on 1st February 2023. I was graded 'Outstanding' on my first and seccond Ofsted inspection.

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

From the onset, the childminder has discussions with parents/carers about development of their child, any areas for concern, and working in partnership with other settings caring for the child will support assessment. Through regular observations and assessments, children with special needs can be identified. Once a child has been identified as having a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) the SEND code of practice will be followed. Activities will be created that promote the development of all children and adjusted to include any special need children.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

By observation, planning, assessment and tracking, the childminder can see where a childs' level of development is progressing, and where extra support is required.

Experience working one to one with children with SEND, and experience working with outside agencies such as SALT and OT. I have also worked in outreach, and have nursery experience.

How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

The outdoors can be accessible as and when required to an enclosed rear garden. The 'play room' has access through patio doors, and the kitchen leads into the garden also. The local area has allotments, community garden, community pond, park, library  well as other shops.

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

By supplying parents/school with a 'Transition to school' document showing the developmental areas achieved. Meeting with the child's teacher and discussing the child's learning and development where necessary.
