North East Autism Society - Thornbeck College
We are an Independent Specialist College (ISC) providing education for learners aged 16-25 years with autism, learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
In September 2013 Study Programmes were introduced for students in Further Education.
Study Programmes at Thornbeck College are personalised programmes of learning designed to increase learners skills for employment and independent living, they are delivered via the individuals chosen learning areas. Study Programmes consist of three key parts, the weighting of each part depends on the individual need of the learner, and provides them with a personalised programme:
- Development of vocationally specific work skills with accreditation where appropriate
- Programme of work experience
- Development of english and maths/functional skills.
