Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases

We are a charity committed to both research programmes and individual advocacy support. Our voluntary support group helps over 1,300 individuals suffering from Mucopolysaccharide and related diseases throughout the UK, their families and carers.

We are entirely supported by voluntary donations and fund-raising and run by our members themselves.

Our aims are as follows:

  • To act as a support group for those suffering from Mucopolysaccharide and related diseases, their families and carers.
  • To bring about more public awareness of Mucopolysaccharide Diseases.
  • To promote and support research into Mucopolysaccharide Diseases.

Regular social events are held and a national weekend conference for members and professionals.

There are no charges to become a member for those with an MPS or related disease. Others can become a 'Friends of MPS'.

An out of hours listening service is provided for members.
