LionMouth Rural Centre
Set in 7 acres of rural countryside, yet only just outside Durham City, LionMouth rural Centre (CIC) is a safe place where those with mental health, social or learning difficulties can take part in meaningful activities in the following areas:
- gardening and horticulture
- carpentry and green woodwork
- arts and crafts
- drawing and painting
- pottery and ceramics
- nature, conservation and environmental projects
- small animal husbandry
- cookery
- tea rooms operations
- garden centre sales
- community service activities
- healthy living
- walking
- orienteering
- team games (indoor and outdoor)

Adults with mild mental health problems, social anxieties, learning disabilities and those with physical disabilities affecting their mental wellbeing. Service users must be completely free from alcohol and/or substances. LionMouth Rural Centre aims to promote a peaceful and therapeutic environment and adopts a zero tolerance to violent behaviour. All referrals will be carefully considered, and individually tailored work pathways devised.
