Breckenbrough School
We are a non-profit making charity who provide a safe, calm environment where boys who have not been able to thrive in mainstream are able to reach their academic potential.
Breckenbrough accepts pupils from all over the country who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan which states that they need help for ASC, Aspergers, ADHD, ADD and other complex needs.
We employ a full time registered psychologist and can provide other therapies such as occupational, speech and language, music and creative arts.

Local Offer
- Local Offer description
Breckenbrough is a therapeutic school for boys with a variety of conditions. It is successful with pupils who are diagnosed with Aspergers, or with ASC, ADD, ADHD, ODD and PDA. It helps enable boys who have struggled in mainstream to reach their academic potential. Most boys take a range of GCSEs and go on to study for A levels. Boys leave Breckenbrough to go on to university, college or into training or employment.
Boys come to Breckenbrough because they want to achieve academically and go on to lead a happy and rewarding life.
There is a full-time registered psychologist and all staff are trained to help boys recognise and manage their conditions. We can provide other therapies such as speech and language, occupational, music and creative arts.
Breckenbrough offers weekly boarding places over 38 weeks and day provision for more local boys. There are links with other education providers at sixth form level.
After leaving school, boys are tracked and supported by ‘Beyond Breckenbrough’ until they are 25. Anyone who has left school can gain support from the ‘Aftercare’ charity which is available to each student for as long as necessary.
Boys come to Breckenbrough because their Education Health and Care Plan states that Breckenbrough can offer the support that they need.
Email contact with the school is welcomed: office@breckenbrough.org.uk. Parents and carers can visit the school to see whether it is the right place for their child.
