Moor House Adventure Centre

We are one of the largest providers of adventurous activities in the North East. We provide a wide range of adventurous and challenging onsite and offsite activities to suit all abilities - including, archery, tomahawks, bushcraft, climbing, abseiling, team building and more.

We are owned by Durham Scouts and provide their headquarters. Our beautiful 19 acres of field and forest is used by schools, businesses, groups and individuals from across the north east and beyond.

Anyone is welcome to visit Moor House Adventure Centre, whether its for the weekend, a week or even an hour filled with activities and fun. Birthday parties can also be arranged.  

Disabled guests are more than welcome at Moor House; they can join in with every activity. Disabled accommodation is available including beds, toilets, shower and special equipment for example harness’, hoists etc.

Indoor accommodation is available which can accommodate up to 40 guests. If guests wish to camp outside in tents, camping equipment can be provided when booked in advance. For those who are unable to sleep outside but still wish to enjoy the camping experience, a small log cabin is available outside next to the camping area. Our cabin sleeps 2 to 4 people and includes fridge, freezer and electrical plug sockets.                                  

Carers of disabled guests can take part as much as they want, they can even take full control and hire Moor house for the day, weekend or week. There will always be a member of staff on call at all times.

Guests must provide their own food unless you request Moor House to take care of all catering.
