Unique - rare chromosome and gene disorder support group
We are a UK charity providing information and support to families and individuals affected by any rare chromosome or autosomal dominant single gene disorder and to professionals who work with them.
We offer contact with families where someone has the same rare chromosome, gene disorder or similar symptoms regardless of the specific disorder.
We produce a range of family-friendly, medically verified information guides on a variety of rare chromosome disorders.
We have a range of practical information guides and publish a magazine three times a year.
Working with families, we co-ordinate research and have password-protected discussion forums for registered members. We host disorder-specific study days, regional family social events and family conference weekends.
Unique has over 30,000 members in 120+ countries.
Our services are free, however, voluntary donations, gift aid and regular giving and fundraising are welcomed.
