The Club Offers young people from 8 years old upwards the opportunity to learn the Japanese marial art of Jujutsu. Classes involve self-defence, grappling, sport jujutsu and kobudo(weaponery).
Offers non contact boxing fitness classes for children aged 5+. The aim is to improve an individuals fitness, confidence, self esteem and knowledge of the body and healthy eating. During the school holidays the club offers all day sport camps where children get the chance to test there skills at various sports and games.
Black belt woman instructor trained in the art of Shotokan Karate. The Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB) is the biggest single style karate organisation with over 11,000 members. Shotokan Karate clubs can be found in many sports centres, schools and universities. You can come along to lessons for a new hobby, make new friends, learn the traditional art of Kara (empty) te (hand) combat and self defence. It can be used for GCSE and A Level Physical Education as well as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. If you are competitive you can try your hands and feet at some competition! Matlock Youth Hub runs a variety of activities which the young people organise themselves. These have included bowling, breakdancing, indian cookery, sports, arts and craft, kickboxing.
