Children in the EYFS learn most effectively through carefully structured play based activities, either child initiated or led by an adult. We continually develop and change our indoor and outdoor learning environments to both stimulate and extend children’s play, learning and development.

We promote and value the idea of strong and positive relationships, amongst the children, between children and adults, and view parents and carers as our partners in their child’s education. The Curriculum is divided into three prime areas of learning and development, and four specific areas which include essential skills and knowledge.

Each area of learning consists of developmental phases. These enable children to progress through the foundation stage at a pace that is appropriate for each individual child. We endeavour to provide an opportunity for daily outdoor learning experiences to support the areas of learning. During the year we will provide opportunities for genuine, first hand experiences, with both educational visits and visitors to the classes.

You will be kept informed of weekly learning activities, which will be displayed on boards within the classrooms, which will enable you to participate actively and support your child’s learning. If you have any concerns about any aspects of your child’s time at school, please do not hesitate to talk to a member of the team. We are here to listen, support, advise and help as much as possible.

Local Offer Description

Our school provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all children, which we differentiate in order to meet the individual needs and abilities of our pupils.

We recognise that children may have SEND throughout, or at any time during their school career.  This policy ensures that curriculum planning and assessment includes appropriate provision for the type and extent of the difficulty experienced by the pupil.

Teachers take into account in their planning a pupil’s special educational needs and the provision made therefore enables them to participate effectively in all aspects of school life including all curriculum and assessment activities.
