Ormsgill Nursery & Primary School Nursery Class

Children qualify for a nursery place during the term following their third birthday. Nursery children are admitted on a part-time basis only. Children are offered 5 sessions a week and each session lasts 3 hours. Our Nursery operates each morning between 8.50 and 11.50 am. Children will receive a home visit before they start Nursery. This gives the parents/carers, child and nursery staff a chance to get to know each other and to discuss any potential concerns before the child starts.
The children will be given a chance to visit the nursery before they start. The school runs a Foundation Stage Unit. This basically means that there is more interaction between Nursery and Reception children. This definitely helps with the children’s transition from Nursery to Primary.

- Description
Ormsgill Nursery & Primary School is an inclusive school and offers a wide range of provision to support all pupils, including those children with SEND. We will try to ensure that all barriers to equal access in our schools are removed or overcome. We monitor and track progress of all children so that the support provided is as effective as possible. We welcome the full engagement of parents and carers and where necessary seek support and advice from specialists outside school to ensure we develop and maintain a range of flexible resources to meet the needs of all children.
