Children's Centre - Bram Longstaffe (Barrow)

Action for Children

The Bram Longstaffe and Walney Children’s Centre team are here to support children aged 0 to 12 years and their families.

Our focus is encouraging development from the earliest possible stage, pre-birth to two years, highlighting to parents this ‘MAGICAL TIME’ when our little ones develop early communication, sensory awareness and forming relationships.  ‘Every child deserves the best start in life’.

At the centre we welcome all who are seeking early help support, offering a variation of services such as, play and learn together sessions, as well as accessing learning opportunities in ‘parenting’; ‘healthy living’; and ‘wellbeing’.  Working in partnership we can also signpost parents to services to help them with debt worries, returning to work, as well as providing family support which enable us to tailor service plans to both families and individual’s needs.

We ensure our centres offer a variety of activities celebrating the many abilities, cultures, backgrounds, experiences, differences, languages and faiths of all our children and families.  Our communities are strongest when we embrace diversity to its fullest and that means opening doors of opportunity to everyone.

The centre is passionate about giving our children the best start possible and our ‘image of the child’ is for them to be SOCIABLE, RESILIENT, SECURE, CREATIVE IMAGINEERS, and CURIOUS EXPLORERS to ensure we all REACH our FULL POTENTIAL.
