Norman Street Primary School

Norman Street Primary School Logo.png

Norman Street Primary School is a place where children can learn and develop in a safe, caring and positive environment. The original school was built in 1908 as can be seen from the original cast iron guttering. An extension was built in 1999 to accommodate the growing number of pupils, and we have recently extended our classrooms further by creating an extra classroom extension in 2012 to enhance the learning environment.

We provide a safe, secure and happy environment where your child will quickly settle and develop as a hard-working and contented individual. We have a highly skilled and experienced team who are committed to ensuring the highest standards of education and pastoral care. Teachers work together to plan and deliver a curriculum that engages all pupils in learning. The teachers are supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants who help us to ensure that all pupils needs are met.

School Vision - Inspire, Learn, Celebrate

Inspire: High expectations, opportunities to achieve excellence, new and exciting challenges, opportunities to take risks, a variety of vibrant and creative environments, by using real life and imagination

Learn: To tackle challenge with confidence, by nurturing curiosity, to have aspirations, to reflect and evaluate, to be creative, to recognise and respect diversity, to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding for life-long learning.

Celebrate: Learning, achievement, personal success, excellence, diversity & promote equality so that we can all make a difference and contribute to our community. We achieve this while embedding our shared values:

Honesty & trust • Understanding & respect • Perseverance & motivation
