Holme Community School is a Community school for children of 4 to 11 years and was opened in 1911. There are 94 children on roll currently. Holme is a rapidly expanding village in South Cumbria; there are now approaching 500 houses in the village following two recent large developments. It is located close to the M6 motorway and about 10 miles south of Kendal. The school itself is close to the centre of the village and adjacent to the Lancaster Canal.

The school building has been extended and developed over the years, with further short and long-term improvements planned to both the building and outside areas within the current school development plan. The school comprises of, at present, 5 main classrooms, hall / dining room, music room, library, staff room, office and additional classroom. Externally there are hard play areas, a court for netball, tennis and football, foundation stage play area, a play park shared with the village and a large playing field. All this is adjacent to the village cricket ground and the bowling green.
