Social Skills Group (8-11 years)
Has your child got a diagnosis of Aspergers or struggling with communication?
Carers Trust 4all has a new service to support children age 8-11, with a diagnosis of Aspergers of who are struggling with communication and social skills.
We provide focused groups, led by a qualified Speech and Language Therapist will concentrate on providing key social and communication skills. The group includes social sessions which will encourage children to put their new found skills into practice.
The sessions run every fortnight, first session of the fortnight is a structured social skills group led by an experienced Speech and Language Therapist these sessions are designed to provide a safe environment which children can learn essential skill such as role playing, conversation with new people, reciprocal friendships and manging difficult feelings.
On the second session of the fortnight allows children to practice newly learnt social skills in a safe environment. Social Club sessions may include activities such as bowling, cooking, drama and team games. Activities will be choses with the children who are fully involved with planning and the booking.
