Dance United

Charity which uses professional dance training to work with people who are marginalised and affected by poverty, social inequality, crime and lack of opportunity. Dance Unlimited have worked with Ethiopian street children, adult women prisoners and people from across the political divides in Berlin and Belfast. Its current focus in the UK is on young people involved in gangs, looked-after children, children who have dropped out education and young women at risk of sexual exploitation. Located near Kings Cross, Dance United supports front-line programmes in London, Yorkshire and Wessex. It is also known for its large-scale dance productions and films.

Client Group
Target group is young offenders, young people at risk of offending, involved in gang culture, excluded from mainstream school or not engaged in schooling. Young people who are the victims or perpetrators of serious crime, families facing challenges in parenting, young people living in hostels with no family support, young people affected by mental health issues and young people of education or other provision.
Capacity or waiting list
London Academy can accomodate 20 young people per project. Projects run 3 times per year.
