Transport Policy Team (Camden Council)

(Part of Transport Strategy Service)

The team is responsible for developing our transport strategy, which sets out the future direction for transport in Camden and describes the context of traffic and transport in the borough, the challenges we face and how, through the objectives and actions outlined in the strategy, we propose to address them.

The team’s main areas of responsibilities include:

  • Responding to relevant national and regional policy, and providing input to wider Camden policies such as the Local Plan
  • Camden’s Transport Strategy (CTS) & annual Local Implementation Plan (LIP) parking policy
  • Strategic rail  - Network Rail, Crossrail and Thameslink (High Speed Two is led by Public Realm and Planning)
  • Input into sub-regional transport plans (for north and central London)
  • Monitoring and evaluating borough wide projects, eg 20mph
  • Managing a car club and electric vehicles programme
  • Managing a bus priority programme, and support to coaches
