Need advice?
The Money Advice Service  is a national organisation that offers free, clear and unbiased advice to help everyone manage their money better. Their website  has a section specifically aimed at parents, which can help you plan and manage your finances. You can also use the online calculators to help you work out your household budget. If you would like to speak to one of their advisers, you can call the helpline on 0300 555 2222.

Local support
The Brighton & Hove Advice Partnership’s website lists a wide range of organisations in the city that offer free, independent and confidential advice. You can use the online advice map of the city showing where your nearest advice services are located.

Food banks
If you are struggling financially and need food in an emergency a food bank may be able to help you to cover a short term crisis. You can contact the Family Information Service to find out the location of your nearest foodbank and whether you are eligible. You could also take a look at the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership’s  website for information about foodbanks and tips on cooking and eating healthily.

Help with childcare costs

Visit the Government's Childcare Choices website for full information about the help available towards the cost of childcare.
