Newbold School was graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in November 2023. We are a friendly independent school with small class sizes. Pupils can attend here from aged 3-11 years. We embrace Forest School as we have full access to all the beautiful grounds of Newbold College and Sylvia's Garden. Early Years have Forest School adventures every Thursday morning, come rain or shine. We have PE every Wednesday - using the School equipment, hall and playgrounds. We engage in 'Toast Tuesday', woodwork, making play-dough and enjoy developing our physical skills in our large outside Early Years area, as well as a School playground. We also lead short interactive sessions in phonics, worship and movement in music, as weell as learning through play.
At Newbold School every child is treated with respect as an individual and assisted in discovering their personal gifts, thereby encouraging their spiritual, social, physical and intellectual growth. By building close links between the school, family and church we seek to develop confident, motivated pupils who are equipped and inspired to extend their horizons.
Play is at the heart of our setting and our interactions support children's learning. We are primarily child-led and follow the interests of the child, as well as introduce seasonal themes. We have free-flow access to our large Early Years garden area and access to all areas of the school, college and beautiful listed gardens. We also engage in structured learning including phonics, music, PE, Forest School, carpet times, story times, woodwork and Toast Tuesday. We promote the Characteristics of Effective Learning in everything we do.
