Bracknell Shopmobility
Does this information need updating?Bracknell Shopmobility is a charity based in the Lexicon whose aim is to assist people with mobility impairments, both temporary or permanent, to get around the town centre locality, through the hire of mobility scooters, powered and manual wheelchairs. We can "meet and greet" vehicles, taxis (please use High St Car Park) and public transport to ensure full accessibility of the town centre.
We are a “not for profit” organisation and all our money goes towards providing services for our users.
We receive an annual grant from Bracknell Forest Council towards our running costs and Bracknell Regeneration Trust provides us with our Princess Square premises. We also undertake extensive fund-raising activities. We charge an annual membership fee of £30, or there is an "each-time" hire charge for non members (£4 per time for scooters and power chairs).
We also hold various fund raising events to help cover our running costs. We also run a tea and coffee shop from our unit, and a charity shop (books, bric-a-brac, DVDs, CDs, LPs, jigsaws, craft items, gift) open to everybody. We are always grateful for saleable donations.
