This part of the Hub holds Barking and Dagenham Council’s key documents in relation to adult social care services. It includes our policies and procedures, and links to the guidance and legal requirements which govern how we work. They will help you to ensure that we treat all people with fairness, dignity and respect. We will continue to regularly update and add additional information and key documents that we think will be helpful.

If you provide services, activities or events, then by registering here, you can create an account that will enable you to get listed on this site (T&C apply). You will also be able to return and keep your listing up to date. This is a free service and a great way to advertise your services to local people.

You can print off any of the documents in the key areas below and keep them for reference or to give to people without internet access, but please check back regularly to be sure you are using the most up-to-date information.

Key areas:

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance provides the Council with information on the quality, performance and effectiveness of services. Barking and Dagenham adopts a proactive approach to quality assurance working with providers to improve and maintain high quality services. In addition to services contracted by the Council, we quality assure all care and support residents use which also includes unregulated services and support that people have funded themselves.

For more information please take a look at our Quality Assurance Policy and Procedures

East London Solutions' (ELS) Quality Assurance

East London Solutions’ Ensuring Quality is a way of accessing useful quality assurance information and resources. We are aware that social care providers who don’t have a contract with the council and who are not registered with the Care Quality Commission sometimes struggle to prove their quality. Barking and Dagenham along with 5 other boroughs have a created a way for those to provide their quality to allow them to offer their services to residents within the borough.
